Simple Installation
DeckGrip Strips have been designed to offer quick and easy installation. The product comes with pre-drilled holes and screw fixings are provided. Unlike other products, no glue is required to install the product.

The strips are available in widths of 50mm, 90mm and 120mm x 3mm thick. Decking Strips are simply screw fixed onto the existing timbers through the pre-drilled holes, using the suitable Decking Strip screws provided.

To offer additional safety, both leading edges of the profile have been designed with a chamfer. Available in lengths of 1200mm and 2400mm the product is perfect for the majority of decking areas and walkways.

Preparation & Application
Preparation

Ensure that the areas that are to have DeckGrip Strips fitted are clean and dry and free from loose and friable material. Any “dished” or damaged surface areas should be patch repaired to provide a reasonably flat and consistent surface.
Dry fit all DeckGrip Strips profiles to ensure that they fit freely and that they sit flat down on to the surface If required, DeckGrip Strips can be trimmed on site to suit, ideally using a skill saw with a 4mm diamond blade or an angle grinder with a 1mm blade. Once you have the DeckGrip Strips in the correct place, using a marker, mark through the pre-drilled holes onto the substrate.

Please ensure that goggles and gloves are worn at all times when any form of cutting is involved.

Application

Fitting the DeckGrip Strips

Dry fit all strips to ensure correct fit, place strips in position using screws provided drill through pre-drilled holes and into the substrate, repeat on all of the pre-drilled holes. (if drilling into hardwood a pilot hole may be required).

Whilst DeckGrip Strips are extremely resilient to dirt and contaminants, they can, as with most other things, become dirty.

Dirt and debris can easily be removed using a stiff brush and should be carried out on a regular basis.

If DeckGrip Strips have been subjected to spillages or the dirt has become embedded, detergents such as SlipGrip Degreaser or similar can be used. It is always advisable to test any cleaning product on DeckGrip Strips before starting the cleaning procedure. This can be done in an inconspicuous area of the installation or, if preferred, a sample can be sent, free of charge for testing purposes.

Using the detergent, warm water and a suitable brush, scrub the areas until clean. The excess water can be removed using a wet/ dry vacuum cleaner or suitable absolvable materials.

Where circumstances allow, DeckGrip Strips can be power washed without causing harm. Care should be taken when the DeckGrip Strips have been stuck down and/or edge sealed as very highpressure power washing or repeated power washing could cause damage to sealants and adhesives.
